Andrés Muñoz-Sáez is an assistant professor at the University of Chile, focusing on advancing agroecology, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable agricultural practices.
His research, teaching, and outreach include evaluating the impact of vineyards on wildlife in Chile and California, exploring sustainable practices in Brazil’s Caatinga ecosystem, and conducting systematic reviews of agroecological methods to improve agricultural sustainability.
His lab aims to integrate food production with biodiversity conservation and provide evidence for sustainable agroecological practices and climate change mitigation. His recent collaborations with UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and now ISARA highlight his commitment to global partnerships and agroecological research.
Additionally, he is the president of the Chilean agroecological society and the academic director of the new master’s program in agroecology at Universidad de Chile.
